Webex Network Recording Player Mac Download

Make sure the Cisco Webex Network Recording Player for Advanced Recording Format (ARF) files is installed on your computer. If it's not installed, you can download it from the Download file window that appears when you download the recording file. You can also download it from the Downloads page that is available under Support on your Cisco Webex site.

The below steps are for Windows users only. MacOS is unable to convert ARF files to other file types.

Convert a Recording

Download the recording file to your local computer.

For details, see Download and Play a Cisco Webex Recording.

Do one of the following:

  • Open the recording file from your Downloads window.
  • Open the Network Recording Player and go to File > Open to locate and open the recording file.

While you're playing the meeting in the Network Recording Player, go to File > Convert Format > WMV (Windows Media Format).

In the Save as: box, specify where to save the file.

Under Content options, select any of the following:

  • Chat: Includes all chat conversations.
  • Q&A: If you're recording a Cisco Webex Training session, this includes any Q&A sessions.
  • Notes: Includes any notes entered into the Notes panel.
  • Video: Includes the meeting video.
  • Polling: If you're recording a Webex Training session, this includes any polls.
  • File Transfer

Select Preview Layout to preview your content settings.

Under Conversion Start Time, choose one of the following:

  • Convert now: Converts the file as you save it to your computer.
  • Convert at a scheduled time: Saves the file and then converts it at the date and time you select.

At Video Codec select one of the following:

  • Windows Media Video 9: This codec creates output that is compatible with the following players:
    • Windows Media Player 6.4+

    • Windows Media Player 9 for Mac OS X

    • Windows Media Player 9 Series and Windows Media Player 9.1 for Pocket PC or SmartPhone

  • Windows Media Video 9 screen: This codec creates files that can be played with Windows Media Player 7 or later.

Select OK.

On the left of the page, click the Downloads link. Scroll down to Recorders and Players, and click the link for the Recording and Playback page. Under WebEx Player and Network Recording Player, select the environment that matches your computer (Windows or Mac), and click the Download.

Some WebEx recordings will be saved in a proprietary WebEx format (*.ARF). These files can be converted to standard video files that can easily be distributed.

Network recording player for windows
  1. Log into the WebEx reserved portal: http://uits.uconn.edu/webex/ and click the UConn Reserved WebEx Logon button on the bottom of the page.
  2. Click the Log In button at the top right of the page, and login with your NetID and password.
  3. On the Meeting Center tab, click the My Recorded Meetings on the left of the page.
    1. Note: it may take up to 1 hour after a meeting has ended for a recoded meeting to appear in this list. If your recording is not available, please check back later.
  4. In the list of recorded meetings, find the meeting you want to download, and click the More button (•••) and select Modify
  5. Here you can change the title, description, and access password for this recording
    1. Note: if you select Require users to sign in, anyone viewing the recording will need to login with their NetID and password. This is ideal for locking a recording down to UConn-only access.
  6. On the My Recorded Meetings screen, click the title of the recording to view the streaming and download links
    1. Copy the Streaming Recording link if you want users to view the recording in a webpage without downloading the video file (preferred).
    2. Copy the Download Recording link if you want users to download the recording video file to view later.
  7. Back on the My Recorded Meetings screen, find the meeting you want to download, and click the More button (•••) and select Download.
    1. If the recording file is an MP4, you can upload this video file straight into HuskyCT.
    2. If the recording file is an ARF, follow the below instructions on how to convert a recorded meeting to an MP4 file.

  4. In the list of recorded meetings, find the meeting you want to download, and click the More button (•••) and select Download.
  5. On the left of the page, click the Downloads link.
  6. Scroll down to Recorders and Players, and click the link for the Recording and Playback page.
  7. Under WebEx Player and Network Recording Player, select the environment that matches your computer (Windows or Mac), and click the Download link under the for .ARF column.
  8. After the program has finished downloading, run and install the software. You may need administrative rights on your computer to install this software.
  9. For Windows
    1. In the Start Menu, locate the program folder WebEx Network Recording Player and open the program Network Recording Player.
    2. Click File > Open, locate the meeting ARF file that was downloaded, and select it.
    3. After the file opens, click File > Convert Format > MP4 (MPEG-4)
    4. Select all the available checkboxes under the Content Options section
    5. A new window will appear. Select a file name to save the converted file, then click the OK button. The file will begin converting immediately.
